Therapy for Latinx
Bienvenidos,
Nuestra Gente!
Do you feel like everyone comes to you for help, but now that you're the one who needs support, you don’t even know where to start?

Have you worked hard to build your career, yet imposter syndrome still sneaks in, making you question whether you truly belong?

Are you constantly pouring into others—family, friends, work, community—while your own needs stay on the back burner?

On the outside, do people see you as confident, capable, una chingona who has it all together, but inside, you’re battling self-doubt, loneliness, or insecurity?

Are you tired of working twice as hard just to be seen as an equal, constantly feeling the pressure to prove yourself in white spaces?

Do you find yourself torn between what you want for your life and the expectations of your family and culture?

Are you mentally and emotionally drained from the microaggressions, racism, and subtle (or not-so-subtle) ways the world makes you feel like you don’t quite belong?

Do you feel misunderstood by people who don’t see the complexity of your identities, who overlook the layers of who you are?
If any of this resonates, you’re not alone. We’re here to help.
Healing and Growth for Latinx Community
At the Aguirre Center for Inclusive Psychotherapy, we are passionate about empowering Latinx and Hispanic individuals to build healthier relationships with themselves and with others. Our therapists help you recognize and reframe limiting beliefs, break self-sabotaging patterns, and heal from past traumas—so you can stop just surviving and start thriving.

We know the barriers that can hold you back—the internalized messages, the cultural pressures, the struggles of navigating spaces where you don’t always feel seen. But therapy can be a space where you reclaim your voice, your confidence, and your well-being.

Understanding the Latinx Experience
At the Aguirre Center for Inclusive Psychotherapy, we understand that the Latinx community faces unique challenges when it comes to accessing mental health services. We know that a therapist that does not understand your culture, can never fully understand you. Cultural values, language barriers, and the stigma surrounding mental health can often make it difficult for Latinx individuals to seek the support they need. That’s why we are committed to providing culturally sensitive and inclusive therapy and counseling tailored specifically to the needs of our Latinx clients.
Cultural Competence. At the Aguirre Center for Inclusive Psychotherapy, we prioritize cultural competence in our practice, ensuring that our therapists are well-versed in the cultural dynamics that influence the Latinx community. The Latinx community is incredibly diverse, encompassing a wide range of cultural backgrounds, traditions, and experiences. However, there are common themes that often influence the mental health journey of Latinx individuals. Familismo, the strong value placed on family, and respeto, the importance of respect within relationships, are central to many Latinx cultures. While these values can provide a strong support network, they can also contribute to the pressure of maintaining appearances and not burdening others with personal struggles.
Language Matters. Language can be a significant barrier to accessing mental health services. For many Latinx clients, expressing emotions and discussing mental health in a language other than their native tongue can feel uncomfortable or even impossible. At the Aguirre Center, we offer bilingual therapy services to ensure that language is not a barrier to receiving quality care. Our bilingual therapists are not only fluent in Spanish, but also culturally competent, understanding the subtleties and nuances of communication within the Latinx community. This allows us to connect with clients on a deeper level and provide the support they need in a language that resonates with them.

Addressing Stigma in the Latinx Community. Stigma surrounding mental health is a significant barrier for many Latinx individuals. There is often a reluctance to seek help due to fear of being labeled as “crazy” or concern about how others in the community might perceive them. This stigma can be even more pronounced in older generations or in families that have recently immigrated to the United States, where mental health treatment may not have been readily accessible or socially accepted in their home country. Online therapy offers a level of privacy and discretion that can help mitigate some of these concerns. Clients can access therapy from the comfort of their own home, without the fear of being seen entering a therapist’s office.

Decolonizing, Affirming Therapy. Decolonized therapy is a framework of healing from the dehumanizing effects of colonization, white supremacy, and systemic oppression. We de-center mental health away from the dominant, white narrative, and instead, we center our own rich familial, cultural, and ancestral wisdom, experiences, knowledge, and strengths. In this way, our culturally-affirming approach honors the cultural practices, traditions, and creativity that have enabled our Latinx communities to overcome oppression and build resilience.
At the Aguirre Center for Inclusive Psychotherapy, we are deeply committed to serving the Latinx community with compassion, understanding, and respect. We know that navigating life in a society shaped by systemic oppression can feel overwhelming—especially when you’re carrying the weight of expectations, cultural values, and the pressure to always be strong.

As Latinx therapists, we don’t just understand these struggles—we’ve lived them. Our team brings both personal and professional insight into the challenges faced by Latinx, Hispanic, and BIPOC individuals. Using a collaborative and integrative approach, we tailor therapy to your lived experiences, strengths, and values, helping you break cycles of self-doubt, heal from past wounds, and create a life that truly aligns with who you are.
