Translucent Leaves

Meet Dalin!

Outside of Work:

When I’m not in session, you’ll probably find me at the family farm, sipping tea and working on traditional Palestinian cross-stitch—one of my favorite ways to stay grounded and connected to my roots. I’m also a big fan of spontaneous road trips and travel adventures—nothing beats the feeling of discovering new places, cultures, and cafés along the way.

Dalin "daleen" AbuNiaj, M.A.

Pre-Licensed Mental Health Therapist

Pronouns: She/Her

Positionality: I am a Middle Eastern Arab, cishet woman from Nazareth. Growing up in a multilingual environment, I speak Arabic, Hebrew, and English. Throughout my life, I have moved back and forth between Nazareth and the United States, and these diverse cultural experiences have shaped both my worldview and my approach to connecting with people from different backgrounds.

My Background & Approach:

Let’s be real—mental health hasn’t always been easy to talk about, especially in communities where it’s brushed under the rug or seen as weakness. That’s why I’m here.

I’m passionate about breaking the stigma around mental health, especially for people who’ve been taught to just “push through” or “deal with it.” I create a space where you can show up as your full self—no filters, no judgment. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, relationship struggles, or deep-rooted trauma, you don’t have to go through it alone.

I grew up in an environment where trauma was part of everyday life, and people had little to no space to process what they were going through. That lived experience deeply shaped how I approach therapy. I combine trauma-informed care with psychoanalytic and attachment-based perspectives to help you better understand yourself and your relationships. Think of it as a journey inward—with support, guidance, and someone truly listening.

As someone with roots in a culture where silence around emotional pain is common, I have a special place in my heart for working with individuals from Arab, Middle Eastern, and North African backgrounds.

I understand the complexities of navigating identity, generational expectations, family dynamics, and the pressure to “hold it all together.” I offer culturally-affirming therapy that honors your story, your heritage, and the nuance that comes with straddling different worlds. This work isn’t just about healing—it’s about reconnecting with who you are at your core.

My goal? To offer a safe, affirming space where you can heal, grow, and reclaim your voice. Because you deserve to feel seen, heard, and empowered to break free from old cycles.

Theoretical & Clinical Orientation:

My approach to therapy is relational, trauma-informed, and rooted in psychoanalytic, attachment-based, and multicultural frameworks. I believe our early relationships and life experiences shape how we navigate the world—impacting our emotions, identity, and connections with others. By exploring these patterns in a safe, collaborative space, we can uncover unconscious dynamics, build resilience, and create meaningful change. I meet clients where they are, while gently encouraging deeper self-awareness and growth, always grounding the work in compassion, curiosity, and trust.

As someone shaped by Arabic culture, I understand the nuances of collectivist values—where identity is often intertwined with family, community, and tradition. I recognize how cultural expectations can both uplift and constrain, and I honor the tension between individual growth and a deep need for belonging.

I strive to create an inclusive, affirming space where you can explore the intersections of culture, identity, and emotional well-being. Whether you're navigating trauma, life transitions, or the search for self, my goal is to support your journey toward connection, clarity, and lasting change—with warmth, curiosity, and deep respect for your story.
